Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Academy

The Cecil County STEM Academy is a challenging program of study for students planning to enter prestigious colleges to prepare for careers in mathematics, science, and engineering in an ever-changing and highly technical global society. Students accepted into the program will be offered a rigorous, accelerated curriculum, beyond the regular high school curriculum, rich in lab and work-based experiences. The STEM Academy courses are designed to challenge students with integrated technologies and extensive problem-solving. Opportunities to work with experts in the field and current technology both within the school and the community will be an essential part of the program.

STEM Academy students s hould register for the following course sequence in science and mathematics. (Cecil College courses are indicated in blue text*.) Two credits from these course sequences will satisfy the requirement for pathway required courses.

Science Sequence

Honors Biology (1)

          and

Honors Chemistry (1)

Honors Physics (1)

    CHM 106  General Chemistry II

Honors Trig/Func/Stats (1)
