The Process

The Board believes that broad input into the selection process is essential and there will be opportunities throughout the process for stakeholder input. Stakeholder forums will take place to gather input into the selection process. Once the board has determined criteria and qualifications of the new superintendent, the consultants will advertise and recruit applicants from across the country. A thorough screening process is used to verify qualifications of applicants to ensure that they meet all criteria. The board will select candidates for interviews from among the qualified applicants. Following the initial interviews, the board will select finalists who will visit the county and meet with the board and stakeholders. The board will appoint the new superintendent by July 1, 2009.
