A Message from the SuperintendentParents, Students, and Citizens of Cecil County, Welcome back! The 2007-2008 school year promises to be another exciting, challenging, and eventful school year filled with numerous opportunities to assist all children to improve their knowledge and skills as the employees of the Cecil County Public School System strive to fulfill our mission. The message is clear: students must be able to handle significant amounts of information that change faster than at any time in our history. The ability to be a lifelong learner is no longer a catchy term, but is essential to our success in the future. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Cecil County Public School System. It is critical that we all work together to ensure the students walking through the doors of thirty school buildings each day have the finest teachers, facilities, technology, and materials available as they strive to learn and achieve their potential. During this school year we will continue to increase our efforts to engage all segments of the public in an ongoing dialogue regarding the vision, mission, and goals of the school system and the strategies that will be used to achieve success. Your participation in this dialogue is essential to the process. It is our wish that each student who attends our public schools has a successful, productive school year. In addition to academic achievement, we hope each of our students demonstrates positive citizenship qualities, not only in our schools, but in the community as well. It is critical that the school, home, and community work together to ensure this is accomplished. I thank you in advance for your effort to make the 2007-2008 school year a great success for all students. Sincerely, Carl D. Roberts, Ed.D.
